Born & bred in Broome, Bart is a member of the talented Pigram family & is deeply respectful of his multicultural roots. A true Saltwater Cowboy who lives by the sea he has spent his life hunting & fishing in the traditional lands & waters that surround his home. As a passenger aboard the Broome Whale Watching catamaran Ballena, I was aware of the importance of the collaboration between these two extremely passionate local tour operators who respect each other & their environment. Both Bart & Cam understand the significant part Roebuck Bay plays & has always played in the lives of the people of Broome, firstly the Yawuru people as well as neighbouring mobs, then to the early Pearling pioneers and now to the people of Broome & its visitors. Bart feels most strongly about his responsibility as a Yawuru man to share the knowledge bestowed upon him by his elders & is dedicated to passing that on, to his children & to visitors too. He introduced us to not only some bush tucker & bush remedies but also to some delicious Adobo & rice, an old family recipe from the Filipino side of his Pigram heritage. A natural story teller with a cheeky wit, I find Bart extremely charismatic & he had me hanging on his every word. What you see is what you get, Narlijia is a Yawuru word that means "true for you" & Bart doesn't hold back, cultural, social or political if he has an opinion he will voice it truthfully. As we journeyed lazily along the shoreline different things were pointed out that had an important story attached. During our 3 hour tour the wonderful staff aboard Ballena provided us with tasty homemade snacks & drinks as we headed back to the mooring at Entrance Point. While the sun sank slowly over the dunes we were serenaded by one of Broomes finest ambassadors Bart Pigram. I would have no hesitation in recommending Narlijia Cultural Tours

Staircase tour with beach to bay. The only way to see the moon - We were lucky enough to be in Broome for the Staircase to the Moon. The tour started at the beach where we visited dinosaur tracks that were amazing. We saw three different species of tracks. We also got to try some bush foods and here the local dreamtime stories for the area. Then off to the Mangroves, we were provided with wet shoes to walk through the mud and out to our very own area to watch the Staircase. Perfect bliss sitting on a rock eating lovely nibbles and cold Matso ginger beer and watch the fabulous show provided by nature.

Great welcome to Broome - We attended one of Barts tours put together for the Cannon collective in Broome. It was a very informative, funny, and adventurous afternoon & couldn't recommend Bart's services enough. If you can on one of the mangrove walks to watch/photograph the staircase to the moon, do it, such an interesting way to see it! Thank you and would do another.

Beneath the froth - I had the luck of having Bart on my own. He showed me the layers beneath Broome from the dinasaurs to today. You can't visit a place with such a deep past without gathering the Indigenous perspective. Bart is knowledgable and full of tales. A great way to get a greater understanding of this remote part of Aus.

A wealth of knowledge and insights. Truly fantastic. My husband and I went on the 3 hour Roebuck Bay Cultural Cruise. The guide is Bart Pigram. As a member of the famous Pigram family, Bart is Broome royalty. His father and brothers are the famous folk/rock group The Pigram Brothers. His auntie is Chair of the local land council and Bart is a director on the board. Bart is a proud Yawuru man with an incredibly deep knowledge of local cultural history. He entertained and informed us for three fascinating hours with stories ranging from the songlines and cultural practices of his people through to brothels and funerals-gone-wrong in old Broome town. His style is genuine, entertaining and engaging and he encouraged us to ask questions. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. My husband loved it so much he went and did Bart's mangrove tour the next morning. Next time we visit Broome we plan to do his town walk tour.

Such an insight into the Aboriginal culture, Broome and the region. This tour ticked all the boxes. The guide, Bart Pigram is very knowledgeable & easy going. He talks with a passion about his forebears, his connection to the land and his love of the region. He shared many interesting facts & showed us relics, foods, tools & sights. Set on a catamaran & sailing leisurely around Roebuck bay, you feel like you're privileged and thankful to be a part of it all. The crew were lovely & shared their knowledge too. We were lucky that at the end of the tour the tide was out so we could visit the dinosaur footprints at Gantheame point. Wow. What an idyllic way to spend a few hours of your day. Worth every cent!!

Heritage Walking Tour - Today I went on the two hour tour with Bart Pilgrim. Bart was well versed in the aboriginal involvement in Broome's pearling industry and was eager to impart this knowledge and was able to answer any questions. I would recommend this Tour.

A valuable experience for Australians interested in indigenous matters. We did a one-hour tour with Bart in Broome a few days ago. We asked for a focus on Aboriginal matters, which he provided very effectively. He is an articulate personable young man, well-informed and balanced on indigenous issues. We learnt an enormous amount of interesting information about the local Aboriginal clans, their traditional culture and how they have worked together to make positive advances through their successful Native Title claim. In short, a most valuable and memorable experience which we highly recommend.

Phenomenal cultural tour. We were blown away by this tour of the mangroves, dune landscape and marine environment. We trundled off in special rubber diving boots and walked across the mud flats. The tour covers dream time stories, catching mud crabs, bush foods, and a range of Aboriginal cultural practices. Everyone visiting Broome should do this tour if they can. Bart is the real deal. This is a thoughtful, intelligent and respectfully delivered tour that provides real insight. Bart is one of only two guides based out of Broome talking about his culture. We need to support locals who are passionate about educating us and establishing sustainable businesses for their people! A fabulous tour for the kids with all that mud but not so good if you are wearing your fancy white trousers. Prepare for a little mud splatter! This tour is better suited to someone steady on their feet.

Lucky lucky me! I did this tour today with Bart Pigram. I was lucky enough to share one on one time with Bart and I was blown away by his easygoing approach to such a wealth of cultural knowledge! I learned so much about the history of Broome on this tour and it was a great experience

The Narilijia and Bagul Bagul Tours are an ideal introduction to Broome's Aboriginal history and culture. Bart Pigram, our indigenous guide was a wealth of knowledge with regard to Aboriginal history and way of life in Broome. On the Narilijia Tour Bart led us through the town, revealing the complex relationship and multicultural spectrum of Aboriginal life up to the present situation. (Easy walking pace) On the separate Bagul Bagul or Mangrove Tour two days later, Bart literally walked us through the mangroves (with protective rubber boots for the thick mud) to look at spectacular aboriginal middens, taste rock oysters, try and catch mud crabs, experience afternoon light changes and hear about Aboriginal day to day life, all with the guidance of a young insightful mind. Moderate walking required with the ability to negotiate mangrove conditions. A great way to hear and experience Aboriginal perspective. Bart in particular was so refreshing in his forward thinking and complete dedication to his people and culture. Bart you are a natural leader and a talented person. Well done!

Informative and enjoyable walking tour - We joined Bart's walk through the older part of Broome and we learnt so much that went beyond the bare-bones of the town's history. Bart does include historical and other details but adds anecdotes from his own family and others which personalise it all and make it so much more engaging and entertaining. The walking pace is moderate, Bart is very flexible in his approach and welcomed all our questions. Overall it was a fantastic opportunity to meet and learn from a local. We were so glad that we did this tour based on the recommendation of some friends.
